RYA Cruising Instructor
Job Type: 2027 BC season, part or full time negotiable
Location: West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced RYA Cruising Instructor to join our BC team. The candidate must have their RYA Cruising Instructor or Yachtmaster Instructor certification. Prior experience as an RYA instructor is required. The candidate should be able to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. This role is primarily focused on delivering 5-day live-aboard sessions.
Responsibilities:
Delivering comprehensive RYA courses
Evaluating students’ knowledge and skills throughout the course, providing constructive feedback to facilitate their learning and development.
Ensuring the safety of all participants
Some basic vessel maintenance
Providing excellent customer service
Active use of our suite of tools to facilitate internal communications, vessel management, etc.
Qualifications:
RYA Cruising Instructor (or higher). This requirement is non-negotiable, and applications that do not meet this criterion will not be considered.
RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, with valid commercial endorsements
Experience in teaching RYA courses
Racing experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
English Fluency
Start and end dates for the 2027 season are negotiable, and the position would renew on an annual basis for the right candidate.
Wages: Commensurate with experience
Racing Coach
Job Type: 2027 BC Season, casual part time
Location: West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
We are looking for an experienced sailing coach with a strong racing background to join our team in BC. The focus of this role is on delivering racing clinics and spinnaker workshops. The schedule is negotiable for the right candidate, generally resulting in teaching one or two sessions per month during the main season.
Responsibilities:
Delivering our custom racing clinics, helping students learn the basics of racing and fall in love with speed!
Ensuring the safety of all participants
Some basic vessel maintenance
Providing excellent customer service
Active use of our suite of tools to facilitate internal communications, vessel management, etc.
Qualifications:
Recognized coaching certification (Sail Canada, RYA, World Sailing, etc.)
Significant prior experience in teaching sailing, either in dinghies or on keelboats
Significant racing experience required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
English Fluency
