This week is a little different from the rest. We were supposed to be racing in @lesvoilesdestbarth arguably our most favouritest regatta of the Caribbean season… but sadly it was cancelled for this year 😢 So we’ve organized an informal alternative, in an homage to what should have been: Vive Les Voiles!! Together with @londonschoolofsailing and @sailracingacademy along with some privately owned boats, we’ve been spending the week bimbling around the rocks of beautiful St Barth’s. Pursuit starts have proven to be extremely fun and a good way to handle racing with no one in charge! #Panacea😘 is enjoying a change of pace, racing with her bimini up, cruising sails plus everything including the kitchen sink on board and just me and Ben wrangling her around the courses. Including some not-too-shabby doublehanded symmetric spinnaker gybes with no autopilot 😂 This relaxed racing has given us time to catch up with St Barth’s friends, hang out with the competition on land and in dodgy raft-up parties, explore farther afield on the island, and generally remember all the other parts of sailing that are a helluva lot of fun beyond the fast paced regatta circuit.
