Offshore Mileage Builder: Grenada to Martinique

  • Port Louis Marina St.George's Grenada (map)

Come get a taste of offshore sailing amongst the Windward Islands of the Caribbean! We are repositioning Panacea X from Grenada north towards Antigua for the remainder of the racing season, providing a great opportunity to gain some night sailing hours, offshore helming and navigation and about 150 nautical miles of warm water sailing. This is the first leg of the journey, taking us from Grenada to Martinique in time for the deliciously unique Tour de Martinique!

We may put in one rest stop along the way, or send it non-stop, depending on conditions. We would be unlikely to go ashore if we do stop, but would be moored for a good sleep, optional swim and then carry on our way. Sailors should expect to participate fully in the running of the boat and will get experience with a wide variety of skills and conditions, with none of the stress of doing it on your own.

Pre-Requisites

Sailing experience to a Competent Crew level is required, but to a Day Skipper level is recommended.

About life on board

This is an offshore delivery, with the ultimate goal to get Panacea X safely to Martinique on schedule.

One thing this offshore mileage builder is not, is a luxury passenger vacation. Your skipper cannot do all things every day, so it’s important to come ready to pitch in and help with all the day- to-day tasks necessary to keep the boat neat and tidy and everyone fed and happy. Everyone should be prepared to take a turn preparing a meal, taking care of dishes, tidying up the cabin and we’ll work together to keep the boat ship shape throughout the cruise. Cabins / double bunks are generally shared, with a lee cloth in place to provide some personal space. This is real sailing, not the glitz of a superyacht!
