Overview

This is not an instructional course although there will be a briefing given by your skipper before and after each race to prepare and recap events of the evening.  You will continue developing skills you have learned in our other Learn to Race or Learn to Sail courses with guidance from our experienced instructors, and continue building your confidence and knowledge on the water.  All while enjoying the excitement of club racing!

Note that Sunday Winter Racing is FREE for Sea to Sky Sailing Race Team Members, and just $20 if you are not a member and want to try it out.  Our usual 20% discount for young adults ages 16-25 applies.

Space is limited to 5 students.  We strongly recommend registering 24 hours (or more) ahead of time below to avoid the disappointment of potentially being left at the dock. But you are also welcome to roll the dice and join us at the last minute in true drop-in fashion!

Prerequisites

Must have some basic sailing experience such as our Quicker Crew course or equivalent experience.  Attending a Spinnaker School workshop is strongly recommended.

Contact us if you're unsure about your experience.

What to Bring?

Please review the required and recommended items listed for day sailing on our FAQ page here.  Staying warm and dry is easy with good preparation and the right gear!

Location

We start and finish each session at 5750 Eagle Harbour Road.

By Public Transit
Bus #250 between downtown Vancouver and Horseshoe Bay offers access with a stop at Eagle Harbour Road.  5 minute walk from the bus stop to the club.

By Car
Free parking on the street around the corner from the club lot.  Please do not park in the club parking lot as it is reserved for members and you will be towed.

By Bicycle
Marine Drive is a popular cycle route although does not have much of a shoulder on many parts of the road.  There are plenty of secure locations to lock your bicycle while sailing.
