We're offering as many opportunities as possible for our students to put some miles under their metaphorical keels (and our real one).  Whether you are working on logging miles to meet pre-requisites for one of our IYT courses, wanting to get some practice in specific skills, or just want to get the heck out of town for a few hours of peace on the water... welcome aboard!

**Note that our mileage builders are only open to students who have already taken a course with us.

Cruising Adventure Mileage Builders

Ain't no party like a Sea to Sky sleepover sailing party!  Apart from being a ton of fun, these short cruising trips offer the ideal opportunity to practice all kinds of sailing skills like night navigation, anchoring, and passage planning.

Oh the places we could go! Brave the blustery conditions of Howe Sound to reach Squamish? Set our sights on Silva Bay or Newcastle Island and jet across the Salish Sea? Do a night sailing expedition to the Gulf Islands and even Victoria? Explore up the Sunshine Coast to Smuggler's Cove? Circumnavigate Gambier Island and spend a peaceful evening in Plumper Cove?

We aim to cover 40 to 60 miles minimum, depending on weather conditions.  Bring your logbook!

Prerequisites: Only available to Sea to Sky Sailing students who have taken a course with us.

Some meals are included, varies by trip... please contact us for details on each expedition!

Bring your own water bottle, as well as appropriate clothing, sleeping bag and other recommended gear for a live aboard trip.

One Day Mileage Trips

Stay tuned for our 2018 schedule, single day mileage builders are usually scheduled on a month-by-month basis.

Circumnavigate Bowen Island? Cruise to False Creek for lunch on the hook?  Head up Howe Sound to see what the seals at Pam Rocks are doing? Sure!

We hit the water to get in a full day of sailing and see how far we can get.  Depending on the day, crew may have the opportunity for practice in: docking, anchoring, spinnaker work, upwind sail trim, helming in waves, navigation, and just about anything else you want to work on. Your skipper will provide as much or as little instruction as you want along the way, making this a really flexible, fun way to get out on the water.

Generally we aim to cover 20 to 30 nautical miles over the course of 5 to 7 hours, depending on the time of year and how cooperative the weather is.  Bring your logbook for your skipper to sign!

Prerequisites: Only available to Sea to Sky Sailing students who have taken a course with us.
