Deep Cove is one of the worst kept secrets in Vancouver. We all know just how beautiful this protected bay is, how stunning the view from the top of Quarry Rock can be, how delicious Honey's Doughnuts are... the list goes on. But less well-known is just how much fun sailing in Deep Cove can be!
Deep Cove Yacht Club hosts a great regatta to let us test the waters (and ourselves) in a very fun and friendly atmosphere. With two full days of short-course racing, we get the chance to explore the gorgeous waters of Indian Arm and relax with a well-earned BBQ crew party in between.
2017 Preliminary Schedule
|Friday, September 8||
Optional extra sail from our home port in West Vancouver, under both first and second narrows bridges and up Indian Arm to the heart of Deep Cove. Great way to get warmed up and log some extra miles!
|Saturday, September 9||Meet at the boat in the morning and prepare for a great day of racing.|
Stick around in the evening for the great crew BBQ hosted at DCYC each year!
|Sunday, September 10||Another day of tight, fun racing! Depending on the tide, we may leave right after racing to get the boat home to West Vancouver.|
Contact us for any questions on the schedule.
Our crew are welcome to join the boat at our home port early on Friday, September 8th in order to enjoy the delivery trip that takes us under First and Second Narrows bridges, through the Port of Vancouver and up into picturesque Deep Cove. Alternatively, crew can simply join the boat in the morning on Saturday, September 9th. The return trip to West Vancouver will be made immediately after racing on Sunday, September 10th, tides allowing.

What to Bring & What to Expect?
Please check the required items listed for day sailing on our FAQ page here.
While we aim to sail our very best on the race course, we offer a fun and supportive learning environment. No enraged skipper shouting at the crew. No grim silence as the crew plots a mutiny. No fits of depression if we don't beat all the other boats. The Sea to Sky race team is all about improving our own performance both individually and as a team, and doing our best to make every race a positive experience.
