About Last Night: Day 3 #racetoalaska field update!
We napped restlessly just shy of Campbell River, row-sailed in the dark to Seymour Narrows and showed it who’s boss by shooting it at max ebb in the middle of the night. 10 knots of current sent us rocketing through and even the dying breeze couldn’t hold us back. We made it all the way to Chatham point and then anchored in a heap of exhaustion in Otter Cove.
A 5 hour sleep for everyone made us human again!!!! Muscles were pretty sore after yesterday’s adventures on the oars, but otherwise we all felt so much better. On board fashion has really taken off, and I’m not sorry at all.
We woke up in Otter Cove to find our racing friends on @teamfashionablylate anchored right next to us! So obviously we sailed off our anchor as quick as possible 🙃... and off into a great day of proper #sailing, riding the notoriously strong currents of Johnstone Strait and playing with dolphins along the way.
